GraceWorks

Darrel Waltrip's impact was so great, in 2023, GraceWorks honored Darrell Waltrip as the very first recipient of the GraceWorks' Neighbor serving Neighbor award.  Valencia A. Breckenridge, CEO of GraceWorks shares, "We chose him for this award because of the wide reaching and tremendous impact the Drive Away Hunger Food Drive had had on our youngest and most impressionable members of our community, throughout the schools in Williamson County, not only teaching them that there are hungry people who literally are their Neighbors and inviting them to do something about it."

Harpeth Conservancy

For 15 years, DWAG has been a key partner in supporting the Harpeth Conservancy's work to restore and protect clean water and the rivers in Tennessee.   The State Scenic Harpeth, DWAG's hometown river, is part of the unique freshwater river systems of the Southeast where some of the greatest variety of aquatic life in the world are found!

The Harpeth is now one of the very few completely free flowing rivers in Tennessee after the nationally recognized joint project coordinated by the Harpeth Conservancy and the city of Franklin with many state and federal agency partners to remove the lowhead dam over 10 years ago.  It its place is a modern design that is practically invisibile for the city to continue to withdraw some water for drinking water that improved water quality, fish habitat, and removed a safety hazard for paddlers which earned the 2013 Governor's Environmental Stewardship Award.  Now called the Eastern Flank Canoe Access this site is one of a string of public access points along the Harpeth River Blueway that the Harpeth Conservancy and others have established from Franklin through Williamson county, through Bellevue in Nashville, and all the way to the Harpeth River State Park in Cheatham County.

Hands on Nashville

When a tornado devastated parts of Nashville on March 3, 2020, we knew we wanted to do something big to help with the recovery effort.  We partnered with Hands on Nashville, a local organization focused on meeting community needs through volunteerism and donated our largest one time gift to date- $120,000.
